Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul has been targeted by five rockets after the United States drone strikes aiming alleged Daesh terrorist positions early Monday morning.
The US officials said the rockets were intercepted by the C-RAM missile defense system installed at the airport.
No casualties have been reported however the local police said that one child was killed.
The rockets were fired from a car in Khair Khana neighborhood targeting the airport and several other parts of the city, Afghanistan’s TOLO News reported.
Kabul airport and its surrounding remains in tense situation as afghan civilians are trying to take the last flights to leave following Taliban takeover of the country.
