UN announces fatalities of decade long Syria war

The United Nations in its latest survey has announced a total of 350,209 people, both civilian and military forces, fatalities in ten years of Syria war.


The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has announced that the 10-year Syria war has left at least 350,000 dead, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
According to a report issued by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, the announced figure includes the number of fatalities between March 2011 and March 2021.
 
The survey is based on the methodology which requires the full name of the deceased person as well as the date and location of death.
 
This is while Michelle Bachelet has announced that the survey is not complete yet and that the UN is endeavoring to collect the precise information on identity of those killed.
 
8% of the victims are children and another 8% are women and the highest number of fatalities has been recorded in Aleppo. Damascus and Idlib registered the second and third biggest number of death toll.
