Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the US invasion of Afghanistan led to the tragedy since it occurred in contrast to the culture and history of Afghan people.

Attending an energy forum in Moscow on Wednesday, Russian President said that the US invasion of Afghanistan was in defiance of the traditions, culture and history of the Afghan people and the result was a tragedy.
 
Vladimir Putin noted," Freedom and democracy cannot be disconnected from the culture and traditions of a certain people."
 
He warned of terrorist groups in Afghanistan warning that the battle-hardened terrorists were "actively drawn" into the country.
 
This is while Washington is accused of relocating members of the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in Afghanistan in late 2017 as they were defeated at the hands of Baghdad, Damascus and their allies.
