Iranian senior Shia cleric and Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought visited Imam Baqer (AS) Seminary in Kamyaran stressing importance of foreign languages on the curriculum of the seminaries.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari visited Imam Baqer (AS) visited Imam Baqer (AS) Seminary in part of his three-day visit to the religious centers and seminaries in Kurdistan province, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric in his speech for the scholars and students in Imam Baqer (AS) Seminary stressed importance of learning foreign languages besides the ordinary courses on the curriculum of the seminary.
Foreign language is a course on the curriculum of all seminaries in Iran with more stress on Arabic, as is the language of holy Qur'an. English is the second most popular language taught in seminaries particularly for those who intend to depart on mission to foreign countries, mainly for preaching or religious debates in international centers.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari visited Imam Baqer (AS) Seminary in Kamyaran on the third day of his visit to the Sunni-inhibited Kurdistan province.
This is the second trip taken by the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to Sunni-dominated areas in Iran after his early November visit to the Iranian southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
