Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Pakistan highlighted rationality as the grounds for materialization of unity in the world of Islam.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Pakistan, hailed the late Imam Khomeini as founder of the Islamic unity in Muslim world and stressed the role of rationality in materialization of solidarity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He noted that establishment of justice takes demands certain tolls to be paid and said resistance against oppression provides the grounds for that objective.
Professor of seminary in part of his remarks counted "rationality" as a frequent recommendation in religious teachings and referred to the decree by Supreme Leader appointing the scholar as the Secretary General of World Forum when Ayatollah Khamenei counted rationality as the ground for materialization of unity among Muslims.
"Minor disagreements should not be expanded into broader issues" said the cleric and added," Muslims have reached consensus in general principles and religious guidelines.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari reiterated resolving minor disagreements through rationality and called on Muslims to avoid clashes and Takfir (excommunication) as they are out of rational principles.
The cleric noted relations among scholars, elites and then the public as the objectives for materialization of Islamic unity and highlighted role of meetings between Muslim scholars on the path to achieve unified Islamic nation.

Leading a delegation of Shia and Sunni scholars from Iran, the cleric has scheduled to attend a conference and meet with leaders of different Islamic denominations in Pakistan during his trip to the neighboring country.
