Top Iranian cleric called unity as the sole way to fight all intrigues against Islam since Muslims have numerous opportunities based on which they can avoid division.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, attended the Islamic unity conference at the invitation of Liaqat Baloch, former member of the National Assembly of Pakistan in Rawalpindi, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, Seyyed Mohammad Ali Husseini, Iran's cultural attaché, Ehsan Khazaee, Faramarz Rahmanzad, director of Culture House of Islamic Republic and a number of prominent Shia, Sunni, Barelvi and Deobandi scholars were among the participants to the Islamic unity event.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari said," Muslims should settle their disagreements since the sole key to their victory is to avoid fueling the issues."
"The main challenge for Muslims is that they are distanced" warned the cleric and called on Muslims to establish "Union of Islamic Countries" with their solidarity.

Pakistani political and religious leaders attending the meeting hailed the participation of Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari and Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami and stressed the importance of Iran and Pakistan in promoting the interests of Muslim world and defending the rights of Muslim nations.
Pakistani scholars in this meeting stressed the key role of solidarity, cooperation and convergence of Muslims to confront the intrigues hatched by western countries and called on all Muslims to stand vigil against such provocations.
The participants also reiterated necessity of unity among rulers of Islamic countries, political leaders and social activists to revive the rights of Muslim nations, particularly the Palestinian people.
