A group of Iranian students gathered in front of the Indian Embassy in Tehran to protest the Indian government's preventing girls wearing hijab from attending the academic centers.
Last week, a video of a young Indian girl student dressed in a Hijab in Karnataka got viral on social media, who was insulted by a group of extremist Hindus; The girl responded to the Hindu men bothering her, by chanting "Allahu Akbar."
On Thursday, about 200 students from Tehran's universities protested against the Indian policy in front of the country's embassy in the Iranian capital city, holding placards, chanting slogans, and calling on the Indian government to change its mind about the decision.
The protesters also called on the Iranian Foreign Ministry officials to intervene in the case.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration has imposed severe restrictions on Muslims in recent years.
The Indian government's policy of repressing and violating the rights of Muslims in the country has led extremist Hindus to carry out deadly acts against Muslims under the auspices of the ruling extremist and nationalist BJP party.
About 200 million of the 1.4 billion population of India are Muslim.
