Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called on Hungary for humanitarian assistance to facilitate the transfer of Iranians living in Ukraine through this country.
In the telephone call, Amir-Abdollahian expressed concern over NATO's previous actions in simmering a crisis in the Eastern European region, and stressed the need to support political solutions to the Ukraine crisis.
On this basis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran called for the humanitarian assistance of the Hungarian authorities to facilitate the transfer of Iranians residing in Ukraine through the territory of this country.
"Iranian citizens, including students, families of diplomats and other Iranians living in Ukraine, want to enter the Polish-Hungarian border to return to the country," said Amir-Abdollahian, appreciating the Hungarian government's efforts to assist and provide the necessary facilities to Iranians living in Ukraine to leave the country safely.
In this telephone call, the Hungarian Foreign Minister for his part stressed that his country will spare no effort to pursue the transfer of Iranian citizens through Hungarian territory and the necessary instructions to accept Iranians without a visa on Hungarian territory and provide immediate facilities for their return to our country.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister also expressed strong concern over the start of military operations, affirming the need to use political and diplomatic solutions, and hoped that the dimensions of the crisis would be managed and controlled as soon as possible.
