Police in the German city of Munster has closed Imam Mahdi Mosque over alleged support for Lebanon's Hezbollah.
Imam Mahdi Mosque and the Islamic center in the German city of Munster has been raided by police early in the morning on Thursday under the pretext of activities in relation with Lebanon's resistance movement Hezbollah, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The attack was reportedly in line with confiscation of the properties and closure of the Islamic center and Imam Mahdi (AS) Mosque.
Herbert Reul, Minister of the Interior in North Rhine Westphalia has claimed that the mosque has been explicitly and implicitly supported Lebanon's Hezbollah movement and raised several thousands of Euros for the Hezbollah veteran fighters and their children.
Since 2020 Germany has banned all activities by Hezbollah while the movement is a legal and popular institution in the Arab country and a winner in the recent democratic elections.
