Thousands of Palestinians in the occupied lands attended the ceremony to clean al-Aqsa Mosque on threshold of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Islamic Movement in 48 Palestinians attended the ceremony to clean and prepare al-Aqsa Mosque for the holy month of Ramadan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Islamic movement in 48 Palestine and Association for Protecting Al-Aqsa Awqaf (endowments) and Sanctities organized the program as is the tradition to perform pre-Ramadan spring cleaning to prepare the holy site for Ramadan worshipping ceremonies.
The organizers stressed in their joint statement that over ten thousand men, women and children arrived from across the occupied lands to attend the annual ceremony.
The participants to the annual pre-Ramadan cleaning aimed to prepare the al-Aqsa Mosque for the holy month of Ramadan and also voice their support for the holy site and the Palestinians in Jerusalem in the Arab neighborhoods against Israeli atrocities.
All courtyards, praying rooms and nearby places have been cleaned in this ceremony and renovations in the older neighborhoods is underway.
Despite restrictions imposed by Israeli forces, Palestinians enthusiastically welcome the religious ceremonies particularly the prayers held during Ramadan.
