Saudi Arabia has announced the new capacity for Hajj 2022 and that the country can admit one million national and foreign pilgrims for the upcoming event to be held on 7-12 July.
Saudi Arabia's Hajj and Umrah Ministry has announced that the annual Hajj pilgrimage for 2022 will admit one million vaccinated pilgrims below 65 years age, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The ministry has added that pilgrims should hold a negative result for their PCR COVID-19 test and that the ceremony will be held with measures for protection against the pandemic infection.
Further details on the number of pilgrims admitted from each country have not been announced though the annual pilgrimage has been performed with very limited number of participants in the past two years.
Two years after outbreak of the pandemic infection which imposed limitations on the number of pilgrims and circumstances of the annual ceremony, Saudi Arabia is increasing the number of admissions to Hajj.
