Iranian Deputy Minister of Interior, Iran, and Iraq are scheduled to discuss the Arbaeen memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Baghdad
Consultations and negotiations between Iranian and Iraqi officials for the participation of Arbaeen pilgrims in this year rituals are ongoing.
Arbaeen is 40th-day after martyrdom of the third Imam of Shia Muslims, and his faithful companions in the desert of Karbala.
Muslims around the world are marching on this day to commemorate Arbaeen.
Majid Mirahmadi made the remarks on Monday on the sidelines of the 88th meeting of the Arbaeen headquarters meeting attended by the governors of Kermanshah, Khuzestan, Ilam and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces.
He further explained that the infrastructure of these provinces is being prepared for the Arbaeen rituals.
The Deputy Interior Minister added: "These provinces are entry or exit points for pilgrims to Iraq."
Mirahmadi also said about Karbala airport and sending pilgrims: "If Karbala airport is ready to be used in Arbaeen days, it will be used, and the Islamic Republic welcomes any possibility that makes it easy to send Iranian pilgrims to the holy shrines in Iraq."
