Imam Reza holy shrine has hosted congregational prayer of Eid al-Fitr at Prophet Courtyard as it has prepared to admit worshipers and pilgrims arriving at the holy site for the auspicious occasion.
Mohammad Tavakoli, general director of the holy sites at Imam Reza (AS) shrine said ceremonies for Eid al-Fitr prayer has begun early on Tuesday before the worshipers to arrive for Eid prayer at the holy site, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The special ceremony has reportedly started by recitation of holy verses of Quran at 06:00 a.m. on Tuesday and continued by prayer of the auspicious feast conducted by Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Alamolhoda Leader's representative in Khorasan Razavi Province.
As a tradition performed on special occasions at the holy shrine of Imam Reza, kittle drum was played and the pilgrims and visitors were served with blessed packages.
All courtyards and surrounding spaces of the holy shrine had been covered with carpets for convenience of the pilgrims as a great number of worshipers and pilgrims were expected to attend the holy site.
Eid al-Fitr is a joyous Islamic celebration which marks the end of fasting month of Ramadan. Muslims mark the occasion with private and community events such as prayer, festivities, family gatherings, gift giving and paying visit to relatives particularly the elders or those who have lost their loved ones since past Eid.
Servants at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) had been busy preparing the site for the occasion observing the health protocols.
The courtyards of Imam Reza holy shrine, particularly Holy Prophet Grand Courtyard, had been decorated with colorful lamp chains, green flags and flower arrangements.
