Deputy of Iran at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought related on the reasons behind holiness of Jerusalem al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque in view of Qur’an and history of Islam in his latest remarks at international webinar on “Al-Quds, Axis of Unity among Religions.”
Mohsen Meschi in his remarks called International Quds Day as a precious legacy of ideologies of late Imam Khomeini (RA) and a day for global objection with arrogant powers and Zionist Israeli regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He called on world Muslims to mark the International Quds Day and mobilize all their capabilities to fight the illegal Israeli regime.
Mohsen Meschi referred to the historical background of al-Quds and the denotation of the word Quds meaning cleanness, purity, holiness and also a name of Almighty God.
He said,” Jerusalem has been subject to many incidents throughout history; 17 times of seizure in some of which the town totally razed to the ground and also the different kingdoms and dynasties dominating the holy city.”
Iranian cultural figure noted that Jerusalem al-Quds has been a holy land and cradle of prophecy, burial place of many prophets and a key city for all Abrahamic religions saying,” Naming this conference under the title “Al-Quds, Axis of Unity among Religions” is to stress the sacredness of the land in view of major Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam.”
Iran deputy of enumerated the reasons for value of al-Quds as:
- Palestinian land has heavenly sacredness.
Its sacredness is not related to a certain ethnicity or group.
Its blessing belongs to the entire world and contrary to Jewish teachings which maintains ethnical look on al-Quds, sacredness of the land has no relation with Israelites or their presence in the region.
Mohsen Meschi added,” According to Torah, the presence of Israelites in the region is not a blessing at all as the book refers to several crimes committed by Jewish people towards original Palestinians.”
Deputy of Iran affairs at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to several narrations shared by Shia and Sunni references highlighting the holiness of al-Aqsa Mosque in view of Islam.
He added that the Palestinian land and al-Quds is the birth place of many prophets including Jesus Christ, Moses, Abraham and Joseph (PBUT); hence a holy land to followers of these prophets.
