Taghribnews (TNA) - Sweden is a safe haven for criminals, Iranian Association stresses

In a letter to the Swedish ambassador to Iran, the Association for the Protection of Victims of Terrorism criticized the Swedish judiciary's support for the terrorist group, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).

Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen, was arrested by the security forces on November 9, 2019, upon his arrival in Sweden, and he has been in prison for nearly 30 months.

"Sweden has become a safe haven for criminals and terrorists such as the terrorist group Harakat al-Nidal and the terrorist sect MKO," the letter reads.
In the letter, the association strongly protests the terrorists' cooperation with the Swedish government in prosecuting an Iranian citizen.
In a phone call on Wednesday, the Iranian and Swedish foreign ministers spoke about bilateral issues, especially consular cooperation.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in response to a phone call from his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde, referred to the trial of Hamid Nouri, an Iranian citizen in Sweden, and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the arrest and trial of Nouri illegal and demands his immediate release."
"It is sorrowful that a terrorist group [MKO] whose crimes against the people of Iran and even Iraq were crystal clear during Saddam's Ba'athist regime has taken over the artificial atmosphere of the Iranian national's court process in Sweden," the Iranian foreign minister underlined.
