Despite facing harsh sanctions, Iran hosts more than four million Afghan refugees who benefit from education, medical services and other humanitarian rights.
Attending his weekly press briefing on Monday, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that there is no specific decision on the future meeting of Iran officials with the Taliban, though delegations have previously had some requests from Iran.
Recently it was said that an Afghan delegation planned to visit Tehran and talk to Iranian officials about Afghan refugees.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman referred to the recent violations in Afghanistan and reiterated that the interim government in Afghanistan is in charge of providing peace and stability for citizens.
Khatibzadeh later referred to Iran and Saudi Arabia talks and noted that no new development had taken place in this regard, though previously negotiations had been formed on various regional issues and there were some disagreements on some issues.
