Iran says Aljazeera journalist’s funeral reveals Zionist regime’s real face

16 May 2022 - 17:40

Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman noted the real face of the Zionist Regime was seen at the Aljazeera journalist's funeral.

Shireen Abu Akleh was a Palestinian journalist who worked as a reporter for the Arabic-language channel Al Jazeera for 25 years, and was one of the most prominent names across the Middle East for her decades of reporting in the occupied Palestinian territories; the Zionist forces killed her a few days ago while many countries and International courts claiming human right remained silent.
Attending his weekly press conference, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated: "We are deeply sorry to say that countries claiming human right exploit the term only to reach their own goals."
He went on to say that killing Abu Akleh was a purposeful terrorist action which is an example of demolishing human rights.
The spokesman underlined that the Zionist Regime did not even stop its violence at her funeral.
"Those who follow this Regime due to their fear or those achieve benefit must know that the Zionist Regime’s legitimacy is in danger," Khatibzadeh stated.
The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs elsewhere said European Union nuclear coordinator Enrique Mora's recent trip to Tehran was followed by special initiatives proposed by Iran to revive the JCPOA.

The eighth round of talks on removing sanctions, which began on December 27, 2021, entered a breathtaking phase on March 11, 2022, at the suggestion of EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell, and the negotiators returned to their capitals for political consultations.
Since then, the parties have spoken of progress in the negotiations and the reduction of disputes, but the issue of guarantees and the removal of natural and legal persons from the red list and from the set of sanctions, are also among the cases in which the United States, as a violator of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), has not made the necessary political decision to resolve them.
In his weekly press conference on Monday, Khaibzadeh talked about the status quo of the Vienna talks about the so-called JCPOA and said in case the US decided to reach a deal, Iran would return to Vienna.
Khaibzadeh then pointed to the Israeli regime's movement in this regard and told the reporters that whenever an initiative was proposed to make progress in diplomacy, the regime began to act against the diplomacy.
He said Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his counterpart in the EU Josep Borrell agreed to have in-person meetings, so Mora came to Iran and had constructive talks with the country's top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani.
Iran's top negotiator in Vienna Talks says the Islamic Republic is serious about the revival of the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) but does not fully trust the Western parties.
