Iran ready to contribute to rebuild Syria's infrastructure

The Head of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture has said that the private sector is ready to cooperate with Syria to rebuild the Syrian infrastructure.


 Shafei stated that the relations between the two countries are based on common interests in economic issues, and put emphasis on the need to exchange information, create a database, and get acquainted with the rules and regulations and business opportunities to increase cooperation.
Referring to the progress in the level of economic relations between the two countries in recent years, he noted: "There is a long way to achieve the desired goals and level of trade, which is possible with the support of governments to provide infrastructure and implement free trade agreements with the private sector."
He stressed the progress of Iran's agricultural sector and added that with regard to the fertile lands of Syria, investment and extraterritorial cultivation with Iranian equipment and installation and commissioning of machinery should be on agenda.
Shafei pointed out that regular planning for holding joint exhibitions and seminars so that the businessmen of the two countries get acquainted with each other would pave the way for increasing the volume of trade between Iran and Syria.
