Senior Bahraini cleric has condemned the ceremonies which mark Israeli Independence Day in Manama with the green light of the Al-Kalifa authorities.
Sheikh Isa Qassem, leader of the Shia community in Bahrain, has posted a message on his Twitter account on Tuesday as the permission for the ceremony had already been issued by Al-Kalifa regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric demanded in his message," Can the move be called a protest against atrocity of the occupying regime, victory of the nation against injustice and commitment to Islamic values?"
Israeli ambassador in Manama has reportedly held a party to celebrate the so-called Independence Day which is known as Nakba Day among Arab and Palestinians.
Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Kalifa has been reportedly among the participants in this celebration.
