International Union of Muslim Scholars has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to implement a law to the United Nations in a bid to ban desecration of Islamic sanctities.
In the wake of sacrilegious comments against Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) IUMS has issued a statement to urge the OIC to introduce law to the United Nations banning desecration of sanctities of Islam and all other religions, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The statement was issued at the end of a meeting in support of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and condemnation of Islamic sanctities and also taking measures to confront systematic Islamophobia targeting Muslims in India.
IUMS in its statement has called on the Islamic nation to join the authorities, media and institutions to defend Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) against desecration of enemies.
It stressed responsibilities of all people to support the Prophet of Islam within the ways possible for them.
Part of the statement reads,” Participants in this meeting agreed on launching a delegation of scholars to meet with Muslim presidents and rulers and also world authorities in a bid to explain the stance of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and consequences which will follow repeated desecration against the prophet of Islam.
Participants in this meeting also agreed to call on the OIC to fulfill its responsibilities in regards to the prophet of Islam (PBUH) and hold a conference to discuss the topic.
It also urged the OIC to introduce a law to the UN in a bid to ban desecration of Islamic sanctities.
The meeting of International Union of Muslim Scholars was chaired by Ali Qaradaqi, secretary general of the union.
