The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized on Monday that a new round of talks to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will be held in the coming days and this week the time of talks as well all its location is determined.
Elsewhere Khatibzadeh told reporters that Iran's foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will travel to Türkiye in a few hours and will leave Türkiye for Ashgabat to attend a meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
The diplomat also said: Iraqi FM Al-Kadhimi's trip to Tehran was planned in advance.
Khatibzadeh underlined: "He conveyed points to us from Saudi Arabia and the Saudi officials announced their readiness for the talks between the two countries to be upgraded to a diplomatic level, and the time for holding these diplomatic talks in Baghdad will be determined soon."
The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said om Monday that the next round of talks would not about nuclear aspects but about the remaining differences on lifting sanctions.
Khatibzadeh at his weekly presser on Monday also said about the recent visit of the EU foreign policy chief to Tehran that Josep Borrell where he conveyed Washington's views during his visit to Tehran.
Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that US must be committed to doing everything in the JCPOA.
A serious effort was made to continue these negotiations, said Khatibzadeh.
"We are grateful for the facilitating role played by the European Union and Borrell himself," noted Khatibzadeh.
He further stressed: "The next round of talks is not about the nuclear aspects, but about the differences that remain in the discussion of lifting sanctions. Continuation of the talks will also be indirect within the Vienna format."
Khatibzadeh said that his term as the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has come to an end and he is going to be replaced by Nasser Kanani.
Nasser Kanani has been the head of Iran's interest section in Cairo.
Khatibzadeh concluded: "From now on, I will be with Mr. Amir Abdollahian and as an advisor in the diplomatic apparatus."
