Interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran Seyyed Ali Akbar Aboutorabi Fard noted the ineffectual role of the US for the region calling for an end to military presence of the American forces in the Middle East.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi Fard, in his sermon at Friday prayer on July 22, said the political and military role of the US in the region has decreased to zero, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to the present situation in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan and noted the ineffective presence of the US forces in the region.
“The political presence of the US has been ineffectual and now their military presence should end” said the cleric in reference to Iraq and Syria and added,” Americans should leave the region, before they are forced to shamefully withdraw from the region, as they did in Afghanistan.”
He quoted Turkish President in his latest remarks saying that the support by the US and its European allies for the terrorists has led to insecurity at Turkish borders and stressed,” If we intend to guarantee security, then US presence in the region must be totally ended.”
Iranian top cleric added,” Iran has recently been a political corridor in the region as the bilateral meetings with Turkish and Russian presidents and also the trilateral Astana meeting as well as important sessions with the Supreme Leader in explaining the political situation in the region and world of Islam were all proof for formation of new powers across the globe.
