Senior Iranian cleric called on Shia and Sunni scholars to endeavor for boosting unity in the world of Islam and said solidarity and avoiding disunity is a scale standing for piety in a society.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, in his speech at the first meeting of national foundation of Sadat in Tehran and highlighted Islamic unity as a scale in the Islamic nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He recommended the Shia and Sunni scholars to be cautious on their behavior lest they stoke division and urged them to struggle in line with boosting solidarity in the Islamic ummah.
The cleric noted,” Enemies have been constantly damaged as a result of unity and proximity among Muslims; therefore, they are likely to inflict blows to Muslims through that.”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to Saeed Project launched as a network of assistance for the underprivileged in the world of Islam and called on the participants to the meeting to join the campaign to expand the network.
According to the cleric the assistant project Saeed which has been proposed and planned for the past two years was recently launched in the first regional Islamic unity conference held in Iran’s Kurdistan province.
