Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has called on all Muslims not to permit their disagreements to provide the enemies with means for dividing Muslims.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in his remarks at the international webinar on Qadir Eid said the event is originally approved by Shia and Sunni scholars and the disagreements should be discussed within maintaining the disciplines of diversity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” We Muslims should discuss on dissimilarities so that they do not turn into a means for enemies of Islam.”
Top cleric added,” Maintaining the morale of dissimilarity is very important as we should have different manners- not necessarily ideological, historical, religious and …- therefore we should discuss and settle our disagreements in the best way possible so that enemies cannot divide us.”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed,” We should not channel our differences in manner towards schism or sectarian clashes.”
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari quoted the hadith,” For whoever I am his leader, Ali is his leader” and said while we (Shia Muslims) think it stands for Wilaya (imamate) inspired to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) from God Almighty, Sunni Muslims translate that to “friendship”.
In conclusion the senior cleric said,” We are all brothers who live in coexistence and our different views should lead to stronger ties and not division among us.”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments at the international webinar on “Qadir Issue from the Viewpoint of Denominations” held on Monday.
