Top Iranian diplomat said that one year after withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan Washington is still carrying out spying operations, destructive measures in the war-torn country.
Americans occupied Afghanistan for 20 years and led this country to destruction, said the Special envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan Hassan Kazemi Qomi in an interview with IRIB.
The Americans did not allow a professional army to be formed in Afghanistan and they wanted a government and an army that was completely dependent on them to justify their presence in Afghanistan, he added.
Undoubtedly, the Americans failed in Afghanistan and their failure was due to several reasons, Kazemi Qomi noted, adding that one of the reasons was the armed struggle of Mujahidin including the Taliban against the Americans as the occupiers.
The second reason, which was more important, was the issue of people's distrust of the Americans, and the third reason was the Americans' disregard for society's norms, including cultural issues and Afghanistan's national interests, the Iranian diplomat said.
Stating that the US is the biggest supporter of ISIL, Kazemi Qomi added, "During the last year, we have seen the structural expansion and operational diversity of ISIL in Afghanistan."
Americans are trying to create religious wars between Shia and Sunni as well as between ethnicities, he underlined, adding that sustainable security in Afghanistan depends on an inclusive government and the role of neighboring countries in helping to build a new Afghanistan.
