Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic attended the mourning ceremony of Arba’een which marks the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also attended a number of university students to the ceremony which was held in Imam Khomeini (RA) Hosseiniya in Tehran on Saturday reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The leader hailed Arba’een procession 1444 for its magnificence and that the ceremony was held more glorious than any other time in its history.
The Leader also called the “miraculous Arba’een march” as a sign for determination of the Almighty God for hoisting the flag of Islam and Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Ayatollah Khamenei also called on the younger generation to value their youths and special efforts to attend Husseini gatherings.
Qur’an recitation and Eulogies were part of the Arba’een ceremony held in presence of the Supreme Leader.
This is while millions of Muslims and also religious minorities loyal to the third Shia Imam are attending the ceremonies held in the holy city of Karbala.
Arba’een marks 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his companions in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
