Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has issued a message to congratulate the new Secretary General of the World Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS).
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari has issued a message on Sunday to congratulate Habib Salim Segaf al-Jufri as the new chief of IUMS calling on Muslim scholars to cooperate in foiling anti-Islam plots, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric warned against serious threats which should be foiled by scholars and urged them to endeavor for bridging the gaps and boost relations to leave no opportunity for the enemies in ambush to hurt Muslims.
Top Iranian scholar also extended appreciations for Ahmed Raissouni, former secretary general of the Islamic Union of Muslim Scholars and Mohiuddin Qaradaghi for their remarkable efforts to achieve the objectives of the union as well as strengthening cooperation with other Islamic institutions.
Founded in 2004, the International Union of Muslim Scholars pursues unity of Muslims and promoting Islam across the globe.
