AEOI Chief: IAEA intends to close file of the alleged locations

20 Sep 2022 - 17:40

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami stated that the messages that came from the International Atomic Energy Agency show that it intends to close this case of alleged locations.

He added: "We reached an understanding with Grossi last year and its statement was published and we said that you give us your questions and we will answer the questions on the condition that you close the case."

The official noted: The IAEA announced that it will close 2 cases of the alleged locations, and regarding the next 2 locations, Iran should provide more clarification, but later they closed one case from those two locations, of course, they reopened the case of the same location! For example, one of these places is an abandoned mine that has not been used for more than 30 years."

Referring to the agency's message to close the case of the alleged cases, Eslami added: "We hope the agency will be honest and not waste more time and not think that they can exert maximum pressure against Iran with such a case."

He added: "The important issue is that there must be political will to close the case. The political will is now for pressure, while the political will must be used to close the case."

The Vice President pointed out that there was not a single case of nuclear activity in the Islamic Republic of Iran that had not been reported to the IAEA or that the IAEA was unaware of and all activities were under the supervision of the IAEA.

He added: "Today, about 2% of the world's nuclear capacity is related to Iran, but about 25% of inspections are carried out against Iran."

Eslami elsewhere highlighted: "The Zionists are looking to make changes in the NPT, which they have not yet reached a consensus with other members."

The vice president emphasized: "The signs indicate that the Europeans want an agreement to be reached, but their main intention is to isolate Iran, and somehow they want to buy time to weaken us with the nuclear agreement. They are against having our fuel cycle, they did not agree with this before the revolution."
