Afghan thinker says awakening dormant Islamic thought necessary to stand against global arrogance
In the name of Allah the beneficent and the most Merciful
Say: Praise be to Allah and peace on His servants whom He has chosen
God, the Blessed and the Exalted, said in His Book:
“In the name of Allah the beneficent and the most Merciful. Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves”
And God also said:
“And obey Allah and His Apostle and do not quarrel for then you will be weak in hearts and your power will depart”
Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the prophet and messenger of God. Those who are with the Holy Prophet must be strict with the infidels, yet very kind and compassionate among themselves.
The birthday of the Holy Prophet is the day of kindness, the day of empathy, unity, harmony and solidarity among the Muslims all over the world. It is also the day to fight against global arrogance, because arrogant regimes, especially America, have always been warmongering and, breeding terrorism while being interventionist and monopolistic. Therefore, severity in fighting against arrogant regimes is a religious and rational action. On this account, it is necessary to look for solutions that will lead us to unity, convergence, and empathy, and to avoid conflicts, disagreements, and divisions. Fighting against each other makes us weak.
God says: “and do not quarrel.”
It means you should not quarrel among yourselves and do not sow discord among yourselves. Because this difference weakens your dignity and power to stand against the irreconcilable enemies of Islam. We must refrain from fighting against each other.
Conflicts without a doubt creates hypocrisy in our hearts. Unity and convergence of the Islamic Ummah throughout the history is one of the long-standing dreams of Islam and its scholars, elites and practitioners. Unity and convergence are of the basic principles of Islam, which has been repeatedly recommended and emphasized in Islamic texts as the first person to bring us unity was Prophet Muhammad and the first herald of unity, equality and brotherhood was undoubtedly the Holy Quran.
God says in the Holy Quran: “Surely this Islam is your religion, one religion (only), and I am your Lord, therefore serve Me.”
Unity, solidarity, and convergence mean prosperity, splendor, greatness, and welfare for Muslims and the most difficult and fundamental principle (to enact) is unity.
First of all, in order to create Islamic unity, it is necessary to awaken the dormant Islamic thought in the Islamic congregations to stand against the global arrogance and turn its potential state to an actual one. Because one of the detailed, deep and mysterious plans of the Westerners is to divide and sow discord among the Islamic Ummah, and being vigilant and decisive against the divisive enemies is one of the elevated goals of the Islamic congregations. Muslims must contemplate over the Islamic awakening, and its goals and they should have complete belief and faith in those goals. One of the most effective solutions for communication and cooperation is the unity and cooperation of scholars and thinkers of Islamic societies. Followers of all Islamic sects should have a sense of responsibility in brining all the sects together. This is a grave and significant responsibility shared by all Islamic sects. Preachers and missionaries should avoid expressing divisive and sensitive remarks.
Another solution is mutual respect between two communities, two sects, two compatriots, and two countries. All differences must be treated with complete honesty and respect. Maybe there are minor disagreements between sects, but we should live together peacefully. This mutual respect should be among scholars, clerics and elites of Islamic countries.
Another practical way to create convergence and unity is to avoid selfishness, self-righteousness and egoism. A mystic once said:
“Selfishness has us all entrapped
The little drop learned self-sacrifice to join the ocean”
The honorable Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyad said: The most virtuous action in the sight of Allah is to act against the desires, because Allah says in His Quran:
“And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires”
It is obvious that selflessness is the characteristic of our prophets, saints, martyrs, and the righteous, and on the contrary, following selfishness is one of the characteristics of the devil and his followers.
Another significant solution is to avoid envy; Ethnic, regional, linguistic, religious, etc. envy must be avoided because God says:
“Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,
From the evil of what He has created,
And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes,
And from the evil of those who blow on knots,
And from the evil of the envious when he envies.”
Envy must be avoided. envy is one of the catastrophic traps laid by the devil. envy is actually a weakening of faith and moral degradation. It is the imprisonment of the divine Spirit that God has breathed into the human corpus:
“So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit”
It is the divine Spirit inside the human corpus that gives it dignity:
“And surely We have honored the children of Adam”
Envy is the worst disease and according to the words of the Prophet:
“Envy is the worst disease and the envious finds no relief.”
Envy is a plague to the religion. The Prophet says:
“The scourges of religion are three: envy, vanity, and pride”
It means there are 3 diseases for the religion which are envy, selfishness and taking pride in your tribe or clan.
Envy is a thick veil that isolates us from knowing the truth. envy was also the first sin that occurred in the heavens, the jealousy of the devil against Adam, peace be upon him. The first sin on earth was also envy: Cain being envious of Abel; killing his brother as a result. Jealousy is a deadly disease that knows no limits.
Another solution for unity is refinement; self-refinement. The soul must wake up from its ignorance. Self-refinement is granted by God. Currently, most of the people have become captives of materialism, even the scholars. The Holy Prophet says: “Attachment to the material world is the root of every sin”
Even in front of the Prophet's family, Imam Hussain and his noble companions, you see that Ubaidullah bin Ziyad prepared 20,000 troops in the shortest time and stood against them, for only one reason: attachment of the world and material things.
Today, we observe that in the politics of countries, most of the elites are bought with money. We can avoid division and move towards unity and convergence. The contents presented here were brief. Anything that hinders our unity must be removed. Even the Messenger of God destroyed the mosque that was next to the Quba Mosque, because there was harm, discord and division for Muslims in it. but God invites us to the mosque that brings piety:
“Certainly, a mosque founded on piety from the very first day”
And about the mosque which was the cause of discord, God says:
“And those who built a mosque to cause harm and for unbelief and to cause disunion among the believers”
This divisive mosque deserves to be destroyed and the Prophet will set it on fire and turn some parts of it into a garbage dump area. Think about it, the holiest places are the mosques of Allah, but if these mosques cause division, from the point of view of Islam, they must be destroyed.
We should avoid everything that destroys our unity and move towards convergence. The contents that were presented in this international conference are not enough, but may God accept what we said in brief. Salutations to you all.
