Kuwaiti MPs have submitted a legal plan to criminalize relations with the Zionist regime.
This plan includes seven articles and a draft. This law considers it a crime to establish any relationship between Kuwaiti real and legal persons and foreigners residing in this country with official institutions, individuals, companies and organizations affiliated with Israel.
The law criminalizing any kind of normalization of relations with the Israeli regime also stipulates imprisonment from one to three years and a fine of five thousand dinars for the violators.
Osama Al-Shahin, a member of the Kuwaiti parliament, says: "In Kuwait, the people, the parliament, the government and the Emir are against establishing relations with the Zionist regime."
Kuwaiti non-governmental organizations also supported the action of Kuwaiti parliamentarians in a request and demanded to speed up the approval of the law criminalizing any kind of normalization of relations with the Israeli regime.
A Kuwaiti citizen says about Kuwaiti support for the law criminalizing any kind of relationship with the Israeli regime: "Netanyahu said that the nations are the biggest obstacle to establishing relations with Israel, you and I and all the Arab nations are proud to be an obstacle to establishing relations with the Zionist regime."
Kuwait, like many Arab countries, boycotted the Israeli regime after the Arab-Israeli war in 1967.
Faisal Bousalib, director of the Persian Gulf and Arab Island Studies Center of Kuwait University, says about the historical support of the Kuwaiti nation to the Palestinian issue: "The ideal of the Palestinian nation is in the conscience of the Kuwaiti people, and the Kuwaitis consciously defend the right of the Palestinian nation."
In a letter to the Emir of Kuwait, twenty-eight institutions and organizations of the people of Kuwait announced: "Considering the efforts of some governors of the region to normalize relations with the Zionist regime, we once again emphasize our firm and permanent position towards the Palestinian issue and our opposition to any normalization of relations under any name and excuse."
