Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher, Sheikh Ismail Nawahda, has called the holy site as “honor” and “crown” for Muslims urging the Palestinians to maintain presentation at the mosque as a way to protect it.
More than 60,000 worshipers from Jerusalem al-Quds and the occupied lands have attended the Friday prayers at al-Aqsa Mosque under tight security measures by Israeli forces, Palestinian media announced, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Sheikh Ismail Nawahda in his speech at the Friday prayer reiterated that al-Aqsa Mosque is the “crown” and “honor” of Muslims and protection of the mosque is part of the religious belief for the world Muslims.
The cleric urged for massive presence of the Palestinians at al-Aqsa Mosque and to maintain perseverance against Israeli forces.
He noted that the predicaments in the past year have all occurred as a repercussion of normalization with Israeli regime.
The cleric condemned the desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli minister Itmar Ben-Gvir to the holy mosque.
This is while, according to the endowment office, nearly 50,000 Israeli settlers have stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque in 2022, a record number since the beginning of desecration of the mosque.
