Beginning the meeting of Iran’s legislative body in the capital Tehran on Tuesday morning, the Speaker said,” We condemn, in strict terms, the shameful desecration of holy Qur’an in Sweden as these measures has hurt the feelings of Muslims and monotheists across the globe”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said,” Swedish politicians cannot cover this overt and organized Islamophobic measures behind the fake masks of freedom of expression.”
The comments came following a Qur’an burning incident by Danish-Swedish far-right activist Rasmus Paludan.
The extremist activist has a history of desecrating the holy book of Islam.
Different Islamic countries have been denouncing the measure condemning both the perpetrator and the Swedish government for issuing permission for the Islamophobic meeting held near Turkish embassy in Stockholm.
