Senior Pakistani cleric warned against Takfir (excommunication) as the factor behind all issues in the world of Islam calling on all Shia and Sunni scholars to unite based on one axis.

Fadhl Rahman, prominent cleric from Pakistan, in his remarks at the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference assimilated the Muslim countries to members of the same body that should support each other and maintain their unity against enemies, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He expressed regret over the violence and Takfir in Pakistan which has led to death of many victims.
 
He condemned the crimes committed under the name of Islam and said,” Takfir is the reason behind all issues in the world of Islam and it is a mission upon all Shia and Sunni scholars to unite based on one axis.”
 
Fadhl Rahman made the remarks at the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference held in Iran’s northern city of Gorgan on Wednesday.
 
Held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the first Regional Islamic Unity Conference was held in Iran’s Kurdistan province and a number of Shia and Suni clerics from the Islamic Republic and Iraqi Kurdistan region attended the meeting.
