Yemeni health official said healing the mental damages caused by eight years of war on Yemen will last for 20 years.
Deputy Health Minister of Yemen, Najib al-Qabati, said in an interview with Al-Masirah channel that cancer and diabetic diseases in Yemen have surpassed the global standards during the war imposed on the Arab country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said the Saudi-led coalition has prevented entrance of medical teams from India and Arab countries to help the patients unable to take trips for medical treatment.
Ali Jahaf, Deputy Health Minister of the National Salvation Government also said blockade of Yemen has forced the families to prioritize food to healthcare demands.
Earlier he had warned that Yemen was on the verge of catastrophe and that more than 5,000 kidney patients were facing death threat due to shortage of medical equipment.
The Salvation Government Health Ministry has announced in a recent press conference that the number of civilian casualties of the 8-year war has reached 47,081 people out of which 15,483 are martyred and 31,598 others are wounded.
It added that 25 percent of the victims are women and children.
