Emirati investors have joined the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) shrine to finance logistical programs worth of $230 in Sarakhs Special Economic Zone.
An Emirati firm has inked a joint contract to establish a shipment firm to run loading and unloading cargo, and inventory projects.
The chairman of Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, Mohammad Reza Barahmand said, “In the first phase, the Emirati firm has agreed to provide some logistical equipment such as winches and lift trucks”.
The second phase will include measures for bulk packaging of chemical fertilizers and coal to be exported to the Persian Gulf Arab states, India and Pakistan.
He stated that the annual volume of cargo shipment from Sarakhs Special Economic Zone was some 700 thousand tons, adding: “This number will increase four-fold and reach some 3 million tons annually”.
He further predicted that the first phase, which would be operationalized by the end of current Iranian year (20 March), would create employment opportunities for some 200 people.
