Leader of the Islamic center of Melbourne warned of the ominous issues of hate-mongering, extremism and desecration promoted across the globe.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Ashfaq Vahidi, visiting the central cathedral in Melbourne, hailed the constructive and fraternal approach by the Chrisitan community stressing mutual respect as a dire need across the globe.
He lauded the Christian community for interaction with the world of Islam and also cooperation for promoting peace and tolerance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric added,” Mutual respect for different religious beliefs and disavowal of extremism are among the dire needs of man” stressing that the religious elites should pursue the necessity.
Prayer leader of the Islamic center in Melbourne expressed regret over spread of hate crimes, extremism and desecration.
He reiterated that the followers of religions should act consciously in identifying the enemies and divisive agents.
Ashfaq Vahidi referred to the important mission of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in bridging the gap between different religions and providing the grounds for interfaith dialogue.
He said,” Islam is the religion of affection and fraternity based on respect, esteem and social justice.”
Top cleric warned of extremists and enemies to misuse the younger generation under the pretext of freedom of religions.
