12 Palestinian minors are held under administrative detention in Israeli jails as Tel Aviv regime escalates issuing detention orders against the Palestinian children.
Israeli regime has issued hundreds of administrative detention orders since the beginning of 2023.
The director of Palestine Center for Prisoners' Studies, Riyad Al-Ashqar, affirmed that the Israeli authorities has been escalating issuing administrative detention orders against Palestinian minors, adding that four Palestinian minors were held in administrative detention this May.
“Six-month administrative detention orders were issued against the Palestinian minors Bara’ Saqr, 17, Bassam Abul Asal, 17, and Mouad al-Haj, 16,” Al-Ashqar underlined, adding that Samid Khalaf, 16, was issued an administrative detention order for four months.
Al-Ashqar revealed that the number of Palestinian administrative detainees increased to 1,030 in recent months, calling on all the international institutions to act urgently to end the IOA policy of administrative detention.
A crime against international law, administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by the IOA against the Palestinians solely at the pretext that a person plans to commit a future offense.
