Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has issued a message to offer condolence over passing of prominent seminary professor, Ayatollah Mohammadreza Ashtiani.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in his message hailed the late cleric as a revolutionary fighter and a servant of holy Qur’an, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He lauded Ayatollah Ashtiani for spending his life time on achieving religious virtues, teachings and promoting Ahlul Bayt (AS) teachings.
 
Top scholar also referred to long years of struggle, by Ayatollah Ashtiani, in the path of Islamic Revolution and serving the Iranian nation in the parliament as well as the Society of Teachers at Qom Seminary.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari expressed sympathy with the jurists, people in Qom and his hometown Ashtian and also the bereaved family of the deceased scholar.
 
Ayatollah Mohammadreza Ashtiani was the representative of Qom in the parliament. Among his scientific activities were deputy of the Society of Teachers of Qom Seminary and teaching different religious courses and also presidency of Payam-e Nour University of Qom.
 
The top cleric, aged 83, passed away on Friday and his body will be laid to rest in Qom.
