The World Assembly of Islamic Awakening has issued a statement to condemn desecration of holy Qur’an by a group of fanatic Israeli settlers in Nablus.

The Islamic assembly stressed the desecration of mosque and holy book of Islam was carried out under the protection of the Zionist Israeli regime in a bid to provoke Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
It stressed that the heinous move will certainly fan the hatred and anger among followers of different religions and added,” To desecrate the religious sanctities is not admitted anywhere in the world and Muslim nations will remain silent towards the sacrilegious act.”
 
The World Assembly of Islamic Awakening also lashed out the western countries and human rights advocates to keep silent and pave the way for extremists and the Israeli regime to desecrate Islamic sanctities, kill women and children, continue intrusion and acts of terror.
 
The Islamic forum called on the world Muslims to prosecute the sacrilege of holy Qur’an in an effort to prevent repetition of such heinous acts.
 
CCTV footage shows a group of Israeli settlers storming the Palestinian village of Urif south of Nablus entered a mosque and vandalized it, and also took a copy of the Holy Quran and ripped pages before throwing the holy book into the street.
