The third regional Islamic unity conference will be held in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province as Shia and Sunni scholars from the region discuss their views on the latest issues in the world of Islam.
Organized by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought the third regional Islamic Unity Conference will discuss “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Shia and Sunni scholars from Russia, Turkey, Syria, Georgia and Iraq will be attending the international conference scheduled to be held in the city of Urmia on August 9.
The second edition of the conference was held in the northern province of Golestan.
Attended by a number of Muslim elites from Iran and neighboring countries on the north, the second regional conference on unity in Muslim world discussed proximity of Muslims and modern Islamic civilization in the second phase of the Islamic revolution.
The regional conferences are in line with the Islamic Unity Conference annually held concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
