Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - Former Lebanese President General Emile Lahoud, praised the last interview held by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the Syrian TV, "which showed the sincerity of the leader and the foresight and firmness in matters of national security and approach.
According to Taqrib News Agency (TNA), Lahoud said in his statement that "President Assad talked about reform and its upgrading, and about the relations between Syria, UN and the United States and the West in general, and neighboring countries, and about the imposed pressures on Syria, from intimidation and threat through the custody of the enemies of the Arab nation and the sponsors of the "Israeli enemy entity".
"He (Assad) appeared as a confident man and knowledgeable designer and uncompromising, and who understands the needs of his country and his people," Emile Lahoud quoted President Assad as saying.
As in Lebanese affairs, Lahoud drew to the "scandal of the published interview of the American "Time" magazine, which its correspondent declared that it was posted in his analytical article of the indictment, without knowing who liberated, or to adopt its content or validity, and including it by force in the article by a decision of the management of the newspaper in New York."
"The adoption of the interview by some Lebanese politicians in a recklessly and disturbing manners, and faster than the speed of lightning, shows what is in their hearts of hatred to pounce on the government and resistance, as some of the biased press, they discover with astonishment that they participated again in the false and slander and fabrication," the former president concluded.
