Iran's envoy to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi noted that "The focus was on the issue of Palestine in particular that we are close to Al-Quds Day declared by the Imam Khomeini".
Beirut - Taqrib News Agency (TNA) - As the world approaches the International Al-Quds Day, an Iranian diplomat has said that the Day has a different color this year.
Iran's envoy to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi noted that "The focus was on the issue of Palestine in particular that we are close to Al-Quds Day declared by the Imam Khomeini".
"Al-Quds Day this year is quite different from the previous year, due to this victory for the people in a number of Arab countries, to which we send warm congratulations for these victories, and especially what happened in Egypt of dropping Hosni Mubarak which represent a loss to the Zionist project, backed by the United States of America, and a strong incentive for the continuation and sustainability of the Palestinian people against Israeli occupation, " the diplomat told Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Roknabadi said ”We do not forget what happened on the "Nakba" or "Naksa" days, and on this basis, the celebrations of "Al-Quds Day" this year is completely different from the atmosphere last year".
Muslims and non-Muslims worldwide stage anti-Israeli rally each year on the International Al-Quds day on the last Friday of holy month of Ramadan to denounce Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands and stress on the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their motherland.
