Director of the Islamic Guidance Council of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in Zimbabwe Stressed that Muslim unity is needed within the Muslim ummah.
“Abdollah Makoeinjana”, Director of the Islamic Guidance Council of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in Zimbabwe, in his speech at the webinar of 37th International Islamic Unity Conference noted that the Quran says Muslims should be all together on to the rope of Allah and never be disunited, reported Taghrib News Agency (TNA).
He mentioned about different dimensions of Islamic unity and said that Ayatollah Motahari insisted “that the first definition of Islamic unity is that all sects or all schools of thoughts should come together and give up all their differences and become one”.
“The second level of Islamic unity as defined by Ayatollah Motahari is that Muslims only have to choose one school of thought. They forget all their differences; they leave all their schools of thought and choose one school of thought which is also very impossible”, Director of the Islamic Guidance Council of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in Zimbabwe added.
He mentioned the last definition that “Ayatollah Motahari said when we talk about Muslim unity, it means that Muslims should come together with their differences. That is unity in diversity.”
“Muslim unity is needed within the Muslim ummah. Recently the Quran was attacked. And the whole Muslim world came together, whether Shia or Sunni. They came together to condemn the attack on the Holy Quran that is Islamic unity”, he noted.
Makoeinjana stressed that Sunni and Shai have lots of things in common, they believe one God which is the foundation of Islam and said: “all of us believe in the prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad. All of us believe in the Gods judgment. All of us we believe in the holy Quran. We pray five times a day facing the Kaba. We go for Hadj.”
“Hence imam Khomeini said that the enemies of Islam when they attack Muslims, they don’t look at whether they are attacking Shias or Sunnis. Therefore, Muslims should come together, forget their differences”, Director of the Islamic Guidance Council of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in Zimbabwe added.
“Therefore, especially on this occasion whereby we commemorate the unity of Muslims, Muslims should enhance and strengthen the foundation of Islamic unity”, Abdollah Makoeinjana concluded.
