Disunity among Muslims led to desecration of Qur’an, prophet

A Pakistani professor condemned the repeated desecration of holy Qur’an and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) stressing that such blasphemous acts happen due to lack of unity among Muslims.


Javad Haidar Hashemi, professor from the University of Karachi, warned of the conspiracies against Muslims and noted such sacrileges happen since Muslims because of lack of solidarity in the world of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Speaking at the 13th webinar in the 37th Islamic Unity Conference, he referred to the blasphemous cartoon of the prophet of Islam published by French magazine Charlie Hebdo and similar recent sacrileges against the holy book of Islam in some European countries.
 
Pakistani elite also referred to the variety of countries Muslims come from and said this diversity should not lead to disunion and differences.
 
“We all have one God, and one Prophet (PBUH) and one holy book” he counted among the commonalities of Muslims and added,” On the basis of these commonalities we should get united so that no one be able to defeat Muslims.”
 
Javad Haidar Hashemi expressed hope for further expansion of the teachings of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and that will lead to stronger solidarity among Muslims.
 
The professor of Karachi University made the remarks in an address to the 13th webinar of the Islamic Unity Conference 2023.
 
The 37th International Islamic Unity Conference has been scheduled to convene Shia and Sunni elites and religious figures on 28th September to 3rd October 2023. As organized by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, this year the meeting focuses on the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values.” The event is annually held concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
