Taghribnews (TNA) - Hamas says al-Aqsa Flood shattered Israel’s military image in six minutes

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called as a “miracle” the operation al-Aqsa Flood launched on October 7, as it shattered Israel’s military image in only six minutes.

Ghazi Hamad, a member of Hamas' political bureau, made the statement in an exclusive interview with Press TV on Tuesday, the 25th day of al-Aqsa Storm, the largest military operation by the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups against Israel in decades.

“I think the October 7 victory changed the whole history in Palestine, not only in Palestine but also in the whole Middle East,” Hamad said. “We succeeded to break the military image of Israel forever. A small group of fighters, some 1,000 fighters from the al-Qassam Brigades, succeeded in [just] six minutes … to destroy all the military sites along 45 kilometers… I think we made a miracle at that time.”

Israel is very weak and is only protected by technology, he said, adding that they have no spirit and determination to fight.

Pointing to the high number of Palestinians, including women and children, killed by the Israeli military during al-Aqsa Storm, Hamad said the Israeli regime has committed various crimes and atrocities against Palestine over the past decade.

“It is the price for dignity and freedom of the Palestinian people,” he added.

Asked about Israel’s repeated attempts to invade the Gaza Strip by land, the member of Hamas' political bureau said, “The al-Qassam Brigades is highly prepared… It will be a very hard confrontation but we believe that the al-Qassam Brigades will do their best to stop them and defeat them and make Israel … [unable] to invade Gaza... We are 100 percent sure that Israel will achieve nothing.”

Hamad stressed that the United States, the United Kingdom and France are the “real” partners in Israeli crimes against Palestinians as they support Tel Aviv in its killing, genocide and massacre in Gaza.

“We, as Palestinians, have a strong determination, good spirit, and we have the ability, the capacity, the decision and intention to fight until we put an end to this occupation,” he said. “Israel is a dangerous cancer in our region and we need to eliminate it, eradicate it.”

The Hamas official also called on the entire Muslim community and all people across the world who believe in humanity and dignity to stand up for Palestinians and their right to self-defense, and stand against Israeli crimes and aggression in Palestine.

Israel waged a genocidal war on the blockaded Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas-led Palestinian resistance groups carried out Operation al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Since the start of the aggression, the regime has been committing war crimes in Gaza, killing at least 8,525 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring some 21,048 others.

Israel has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
