Prominent religious figures, ambassadors and spiritual leaders attended the 19th meeting of the International Muslim Forum of Russia and the Islamic World to exchange views on an end to Israel’s massacre of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Participants from 18 countries gathered at the 19th meeting of the Muslim Forum held in Moscow’s Cathedral Mosque on Tuesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin, chairman of council of muftis of Russia, voiced support for the Palestinian resistance in its confrontation with the Israeli forces and called on the Muslims across the globe to help stop the genocide in Gaza.
In his opening speech at the meeting, Mufti Gaynutdin urged for an end to atrocities, ensuring of security and an end to killing of the Palestinian civilians.
Iran’s Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought reiterated justice as the key social value and pointed out the issue of Palestine as the top priority for the world of Islam.
Kazem Jalali, Iranian ambassadors to Moscow, deplored the barbarity of the Israeli regime during more than seven decades as a disgrace to humanity. He called on the international organizations to fulfill their role regarding Gaza and added that there is no justification for killing the vulnerable people.
Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Palestinian ambassador to Moscow referred to 75 years of Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands and stressed every Palestinian will remain in their land despite Israeli onslaughts.
Participants also stressed formation of an interreligious charter of traditional spiritual values as well as the role of spiritual leaders in resolving the armed conflict in Palestine.
