The fifth emergency meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states (PUIC) has kicked off in the capital Tehran.
The emergency meeting of the Permanent Committee on Palestine and the first meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in attendance of representatives from 26 Islamic and Asian countries has opened on Wednesday morning, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Representatives from Algiers, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, China, Indonesia, Turkey and Pakistan, among several other countries, are taking part in the conference.
The meeting comes as Israel’s atrocious war against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip is in its fourth month now.
The war has left more than 23,000 people dead and over 59,000 injured with 7,000 others missing.
Since the beginning of the Israeli onslaughts on October 7, over two million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced.
