Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has stressed that the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza has revealed the ineffective role of the UN and Security Council calling for a reform in structure of both bodies.
The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks in a video message published on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Referring to the ongoing Israeli massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that the Zionists' crimes have made it clear that the United Nations, especially the Security Council, is ineffective in fulfilling its duties.
He emphasized that the focus of some parties on the continuation of unilateralism is the root cause of many crises and the expansion of the scope of war and insecurity in different regions of the world.
"I am very pleased that on the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, we are witnessing many achievements in various fields," he said elsewhere in his remarks, adding that the country has progressed in different eras including in the fields of science, industry, technology, and medicine.
The empowerment of women and youth has played an important role in these great achievements of Iran after the Islamic Revolution, he added.
The current Iranian administration focuses on constructive interaction with all countries of the world, prioritizing strong cooperation with its neighbors, Amir-Abdollahian concluded.
