Israeli forces have prevented hundreds of Palestinians who wanted to perform the nigh prayer of the holy month of Ramadan from entering the holy site and beat a number of them.
Tensions erupted as the Israeli forces imposed restriction on entrance of the prayers to the al-Aqsa Mosque with the regime forces beating a number of the worshipers.
Eye witnesses said that dozens of Palestinians who came to perform nigh prayer had gathered at the gate of the Noble Sanctuary or Haram al-Sharif.
Hard-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir has said he wanted restrictions on worshipers at al-Aqsa.
Thousands of Israeli forces have been deployed around the narrow streets of the Old City in al-Quds, where tens of thousands of worshippers are expected every day at the holy compound.
Palestinians in Jerusalem al-Quds have expressed fear that Israeli authorities and far-right settlers will attack Palestinians across the occupied West Bank during the holy month as part of a broader campaign of collective punishment.
