The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has called on the world of Islam to continue their support for the oppressed Palestinian nation.
In a message issued on Sunday, Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, expressed congratulations to the Muslims across the globe on the beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed the Islamic identity of the holy al-Aqsa Mosque and cooperation of the Islamic countries in support of the oppressed Palestinian nation.
The cleric hailed Ramadan as the month of unity and convergence among Muslims.
In many countries including Iran, Tuesday March 12 has been marked as the first day of Ramadan when Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk. Qur’an recitation, charity work and making donations are especially observed in this month.
